BRIAN MITCHELL TO BECOME THE NEW ADAM WARREN

As spring training comes to a close, the Yankees likely have Warren’s replacement in Bryan Mitchell and some scouts believe the right-hander’s stuff is better than Warren’s, even if Mitchell wasn’t that impressive in 20 big league outings a year ago.

In a four-inning, scoreless stint against the Blue Jays at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on Saturday, Mitchell demonstrated why he is about to become the new Warren.

“My goal coming into spring training was to make this team in any role,’’ said Mitchell, who gave up a hit, didn’t issue a walk and fanned four. “I feel I put myself in a good position to do that but I am not going to stress about that.’’
