Danielle Claudine Ortega Garcia-Crawford[1] (born September 24, 1992), known professionally as Coleen Garcia, is a Filipino actress, host, and model. From 2012 to 2016 she was a host on the variety show It’s Showtime, having since left the programme to focus on her acting career. She since starred in the 2016 film Love Me Tomorrow.

Early life[edit]

Garcia studied at the Southville International School and Colleges in Las Piñas from nursery until sixth grade, then transferred to Veritas Parochial School, BF Homes, Phase 1 also in Parañaque, where she served as an editor-in-chief for their high school paper The Wire and part of the school’s student council and outreach program. She returned to Southville for college, where she is taking up psychology through blended learning. Garcia is of Spanish descent, as her family is based in Malaga Spain by her parent. Her father Jose Luis Garcia is of Spanish Filipino descent and her mother Maria Paz Ortega is of Filipino descent. Garcia is the eldest child of 4 Siblings, who are Mario Joaquin Luis Garcia (born on June 6, 1997), Paolo Javier Ortega Garcia (born on August 5, 2000), and Iñigo Ortega Singson (born May 2004).[2]

Early beginnings[edit]

Garcia started as a commercial model as early as age 2, when she and her mom appeared in a commercial for Johnson & Johnson. At nine years old, she was an image model for Just G, the teens line for Gingersnaps. As she entered her teen years, she starred in a commercial endorsement alongside John Lloyd Cruz for Skin White, Lewis & Pearl Cologne alongside Enrique Gil as “Angel” and as “Matina” for Nestea alongside Neil Coleta.

2011–present[edit]

Garcia has been under contract with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic group of talents since 2011.[3] She first appeared in Maalaala Mo Kaya episode School I.D., and was cast alongside ex-Lewis & Pearl partner Enrique Gil and ex-PBB Teen housemates James Reid, Devon Seron, Fretzie Bercede and Yen Santos in a teen-oriented show Good Vibes. She also made appearance in other ABS-CBN shows and teleseryes such as My Binondo Girl, Wansapanataym, Oka Tokat, Little Champ, among others. In 2012, Garcia became a co-host for the noontime variety show It’s Showtime. In January 2016, she announced that she had departed It’s Showtime to prioritize her acting career.[4] She starred in the afternoon primetime teleserye Pasión de Amor. After Pasion de Amor, she is set to star a pre-afternoon drama series together with Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu and her Pasion de Amor co-cast, Jake Cuenca.

Personal life[edit]

In 2014, Garcia began dating her It’s Showtime co-host, Billy Crawford.[5] The two became engaged on December 20, 2016,[6] and married on April 20, 2018.[7]

Gabriela Annjane Umali Cruz also known as Ella Cruz (born August 17, 1996) is a Filipino actress, product endorser, host, commercial & promotional model, and dancer. She is notable as Aryana in the 2012 fantasy drama series of the same name. she is currently under Viva Artist Agency. Cruz’s father was born in Palau and her mother in the Philippines

Career[edit]

She started her career in GMA Network since 2006. her first activity is Majika. Cruz moved to rival network, ABS-CBN since 2007. in 2010, she returned to GMA Network for Panday Kids and Ilumina. she once again moved to ABS-CBN to appear in Maalaala Mo Kaya, Cruz secondly returned to GMA Network in 2011, but later quickly moved to TV5 for Inday Wanda, and officially transferred to ABS-CBN & Star Magic as a contract artist.

She was known for playing the teen character of Cristine Reyes in the TV series Dahil Sa Pag-ibig. Cruz was often paired with Francis Magundayao (who played the teen Piolo Pascual in the same TV series). She starred in Aryana as Philippines’ first teen mermaid. She also played as a teen mom in Bagito.

As of 2015, Cruz signed a contract with Viva Artist Agency as of 2015. She starred in several shows on TV5 like #ParangNormal Activity and played the role of Avah Chen in TV5’s Wattpad Presents: Avah Maldita (Oh! Aarte pa?). She also became a host in a Sunday variety show, Happy Truck HAPPinas. Cruz made her last appearance as part of Kapamilya (ABS-CBN) Family in Ipaglaban Mo last 2016.

She recently became popular when an uploaded video of her dancing to “Twerk It Like Miley” turned viral in YouTube.

In 2017, she got her very first leading role in her movie Fangirl, Fanboy with (Julian Trono). Within the same year, she (alongside Julian Trono) published a book, under VRJ Books Publishing, titled “Jump In” where past photos and stories of their love team (JulianElla) can be found, as well as some of the poems that Julian Trono made for her on Twitter.
