Susan Kelechi Watson is an actress who is recognized for her work on the television show Louie.[1] She currently stars in the 2016 NBC television dramedy series This Is Us as Beth Pearson.

Biography[edit]

Watson is of Jamaican heritage, with both her parents being born in the island nation. Her middle name, Kelechi indicates also that she may be of Nigerian Heritage as it is an igbo name meaning “Thank God”.[2] Watson obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program.[3]

Career[edit]

Watson had a recurring role on the television show Louie from 2012 through 2014. She has also had recurring roles on NCIS, The Following, and The Blacklist. She also appeared in a play at the American Airlines Theatre in New York City by playwright Richard Greenberg entitled A Naked Girl on Appian Way. She currently stars in the 2016 NBC television dramedy series This Is Us as Beth Pearson.
